narrative factsheet

Identify at least  one  potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment. I missed out on Q1 if i used Consistent highly appropriate use of subject specific terminology throughout. i would of achieved more marks on Q1  I missed out on Q2 if i had e xcellent and accurate understanding of the theoretical framework that is demonstrated by consistently appropriate explanation of the connotations in the products. I would of been able to gain full marks for Q2 I missed out on Q3  if i had Excellent knowledge and understanding of the influences of genre on media audiences

October blog feedback and learner response

  WWW:  I like your Semiotics blog work clearly using media terminology from the lesson in your analysis. Good use of examples to develop your understanding of semiotics furthers by analysing the Starbucks and L'OrĂ©al advertisements.   EBI:  Two key areas to improve here: firstly, some of your work is missing or unfinished and it’s important to make sure you are organised and fully completing work, you have not published since the middle of September. Make sure you post the Reading an Image, Reception theory, Genre, and Narrative blogs as soon as you can. On a side note, try and develop your exposure to other forms of media such as Newspapers, Radio, and Magazines to ensure you are exposed to a variety of different media.   LR:  Complete any missing or unfinished work.

Preferred reading : Reebok allows them to stand out as unique and distinctive, which is the favoured interpretation of the RBK 50 Cent advertisement. When things improve in their lives, they could have a feeling of accomplishment and success. Given that the brand is intended for all, this may also imply how special each individual is and well-known as he is the face of the advertisement.   Negotiated reading: Given that Reebok is a sports company and that no of its apparel is on display, some viewers of this advertisement may be a little perplexed. Reading an image - media codes

  1) Analyse this RBK 50 Cent advert using the media codes you learned in the lesson:  Technical, Written or verbal, Symbolic or non-verbal, Narrative. Write a paragraph for each one exploring the way meanings are created using those media codes.
